Petta
Petta (transl. Hood) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film was produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth alongside an ensemble cast featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, M. Sasikumar, Simran, Trisha, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, Mahendran, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Aadukalam Naren, Munishkanth, and Sananth in supporting roles. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander with editing done by Vivek Harshan and cinematography by Tirru. The film revolves around Kaali, a hostel warden crosses paths with a group of criminals where things takes an interesting turn.

The film stars Vijay in the titular role while Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek and Kathir appear in other prominent roles. In the film, Michael Rayyapan alias Bigil is a footballer-turned-gangster who decides to coach a women's football team when their coach gets attacked.

Kalathil Santhippom (transl. Let's meet on the playfield) is a 2021 Indian Tamil language sports action drama film written and directed by N. Rajasekar with dialogues penned by R. Ashok. The film stars Jiiva, Arulnithi, Manjima Mohan and Priya Bhavani Shankar.The film is based on the sport of kabaddi and the friendship between two men Ashok and Anand who were initially regarded as rivals. The film also marked the posthumous release of actor Naadodigal Gopal who died on 5 March 2020 prior to the film release. It had its theatrical release on 5 February 2021 and opened to positive reviews from critics and became an average hit at the box office.

(Vijay) is an alcoholic professor, who takes a three-month teaching job in a juvenile home and clashes with a ruthless gangster named Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi), who uses the children as the scapegoat for his criminal activities.
